NYCM training week 1:
Engagement Photos in Central Park
A few weeks ago, our amazing photographer, Cynthia Starr, came down to NYC from upstate for our engagement photo shoot. Before hiring a photographer, I never thought I’d even want engagement photos. The pictures I’d seen always looked corny to me and I couldn’t imagine myself enjoying the process.
After booking Cynthia for our upcoming wedding, she explained that the engagement shoot is important for many reasons – it helps us to learn her style and how she’ll operate on our wedding day and it helps her to learn our best angles, how comfortable we are with certain poses and instructions, and really gives her an insight into our personalities as individuals and as a couple. All this paired with the fact that it was included in our package and I felt like we were paying for it anyway, I agreed to an engagement shoot.
And I’m glad I did 🙂
We met in Central Park’s Conservatory Garden and spent about an hour taking photos in different areas. I cannot believe how lucky we were in terms of weather and that we had the entire garden almost completely to ourselves. The few people who were there saw we were taking photos and offered congratulations and made sure to move around us.
I’m not going to lie, a lot of this did feel awkward to me. I’m not very touchy and I do not like PDA and Justin kept laughing at me whenever I became visibly uncomfortable (okay, Cynthia laughed too), but I’m really glad I sucked up my awkwardness and that we have these photos.
We are officially less than 2 months from the big day, I’m halfway through my second week of marathon training, and I’ve got my bachelorette this weekend! So much
to do omg why do I have so much to do excitement!
Follow the fun here (I’m super into instastories now) 🙂
